AI-recommendation snapshots
Who does AI recommend for local home services?
When a homeowner asks ChatGPT or Perplexity "who are the best HVAC, plumbing, roofing, or electrical companies near me?", the assistant answers with a short list of names. The snapshots below are dated, factual records of exactly which businesses a live-web-search research pass surfaced for that question in each city — the same method a Cited audit uses, with no ads and no scraped Google results.
They aren't rankings and they aren't endorsements: Cited doesn't rank or endorse businesses, and AI answers are sampled and change over time. Find your market to see who's getting named today — and if your business isn't on a list, that gap is exactly what a free Cited audit measures.

Run a home-services business? See how to be the name AI recommends
Every snapshot below is a market where homeowners are already asking an AI assistant who to call. Being the recommended name is exclusive — one clearly-labeled featured listing per city, never resold to a competitor, cancel anytime — and it’s a paid placement, not an AI recommendation: Cited doesn’t rank or endorse businesses. Start with the free audit to see where you stand; your fix list stays yours either way.

Check it yourself, right now
These are three questions we put to an AI assistant ourselves, in three real markets. Open one and read today’s answer — nothing is sent to us, and we cannot edit a word of what it says — then open ours and see what the same question returned on the date we ran it. The two will not match exactly: AI answers are sampled, which is why every page we publish carries its date rather than claiming to be a live ranking.

Frequently asked questions
What are these AI-recommendation snapshots?
Each snapshot is a dated, factual record of which local businesses an AI research assistant surfaced when asked "who are the best {trade} in {city}?" — run with live web search, the same method a Cited audit uses, with no ads and no scraped Google results. We currently publish 46, one per covered trade and metro, and add more as we run new passes.
Do these snapshots rank the businesses?
No. Cited doesn't rank or endorse businesses. Within a snapshot the order reflects only how often each business recurred across independent reviews, directories, and best-of lists on that date — not a Cited judgment. AI answers are sampled and non-deterministic, so a different assistant, or the same one next week, may name a different set.
My business isn’t listed — how do I show up?
If a snapshot didn't surface your business, that's exactly the gap a Cited audit measures: whether AI names you when a homeowner in your city asks, who it names instead, and the plain-English fixes that change it — a complete Google Business Profile, recent reviews, and clear service-area pages. The audit is free and needs no account.
How current are these snapshots?
Every snapshot is stamped with the date its research pass ran, shown next to each market below. Because AI answers change over time, treat each as a record of that day — not a live ranking. We refresh and add markets on a rolling basis.
